Milan vs Atalanta (10:30 PM)

Barcelona coach Xavi has confirmed that Ronald Araujo will remain in hospital overnight after defeating Celta Vigo despite being unconscious and safe.

Araujo collided head-on with team-mate Gavi during Tuesday night's La Liga match as they bounced into the air.

Gavi was quiet, but Araujo initially seemed to be chasing the ball and was about to fall to the ground.

Both players urged medical staff to enter the field, and the 23-year-old was treated for about 10 minutes before being taken to a nearby hospital.

The incident slightly influenced Barca's 3-1 victory. However, Xavi gave a positive update on Araujo's condition shortly after full time.

"At first we were scared," Xavi told Movistar +. "Doctors have told us he was unconscious and safe. But he will stay in the hospital for the rest of the night.

"I hope he comes home tomorrow. It's scary."

Memphis Depay opened the scoring early in the second half with a two-goal lead from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang giving Barca a 3-0 lead over Celta.

Celta drew 3-3 in November and recovered from a three-goal deficit, scoring once through Iago Aspas at Newquay.

However, former Barca loanee Jeison Murillo was shown a red card and the hopes of rescuing the visitors were finally dashed.

Aspas has now scored 10 goals in 15 league games against Barcelona. Only Diego Forlan has scored the most competitive goals in La Liga of the century.

Aspas was asked about his goal in a post-match interview, but his immediate focus was on Araujo.

"First of all, I want to encourage Ronald. I do not know what happened," he said. "He left the stand but told us he was better now.

"At first he seemed a little surprised to see what was happening. Then he bowed his head and saw the other side and took him to the doctor.

"We had a lot of chances in this game than Barcelona, but we were not as effective with the opposition.
